I bought myself a book for Christmas called the “Trouble with Physics” by Lee Smolin. In 2006 we also praised Mr Smolin's book "The Trouble with Physics”, describing it as a pleasurable account of "how science is really done". There's been lots of excitement in the past year or so over the possibility that physicists will soon develop a real-life version of Harry Potter's invisibility cloak.
